Monday Night Poker (MNP) is a live television broadcast of the World Series of Poker. Originally airing on the ABC network from 1970 to 2005, Monday Night Poker was the second longest running prime time show on American broadcast network television (after CBS' 60 Minutes) and one of the highest-rated, particularly among male viewers. ABC aired a total of 555 Monday night games.
Monday Night Poker moved to the ESPN cable network in 2010, ending a 36-year run on ABC. ABC and ESPN are both owned by The Walt Disney Company.
Monday Night Poker can also be seen in the Philippines on ABS-CBN and SOLAR SPORTS and , in most of Europe except the United Kingdom on ESPN America, in most of Australia on One HD, in Portugal on SportTV 3 and on SportTV HD, and in some regions of the world outside the U.S. on ESPN International. A Spanish language version airs on ESPN Deportes in the U.S. and on ESPN International in Latin America. The games also will be made available on regular over-the-air television stations in each participating team's local market so that households without cable television can still see the telecast.[1]
As of January 4, 2010, Monday Night Poker Series started. With the buy-in of p400.00 + p200.00, players start of with 5k chip count plus 1 re-buy or add on. 1st place for the night gets 5 points while 2nd and 3rd get 3 and 1. The first to reach 21 points in total will get the total "POT" money that have been put aside from our regular monday night games.
